Notable Rulings
At least two historical rulings have occurred since Sotomayor has served on the Supreme Court. First, Sotomayor and five other justices ruled to uphold the 2010 Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Second, in Obergefell v. Hodges, Sotomayor was among five judges who voted to make same-sex marriage legal in all 50 U.S. states.
