About Spike Jones
Lindley Armstrong Jones, professionally known as Spike Jones, was an amazing talent in the music world. He was a man whose name was synonymous with real amusement in the US for more than three decades of his professional career.
As a musician and bandleader, he excelled in comedic interpretations of famous tunes and orchestral music. Widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians of his time he was associated with several notable acts but later found success in the 1940s with the band The City Slickers following the release of their single "Der Fuehrer's Face,".
Later in his career, he established a successful name for himself by releasing a long-range of successful albums, including "Spike Jones in Stereo," "My Man," and "Dinner Music For People Who Aren't Very Hungry."
