Family and Education
She was born to Edwin Lee Byington and Helen Maud Cleghorn but lost her father in 1891. She graduated from Boston University School of Medicine.
She had two children namely Phyllis and Lois with Roy Carey Chandler.
Career Highlight
After completing medicine school, she established and ran a practice together with her school colleague. She ventured into acting in 1903 and participated in the play titled “Dr. Morris”. She then landed roles in Broadway plays which includes “Beggar on Horseback”, “Once in a Lifetime” and “Ladies Don’t Lie” and he received credits for her performances.
She made her screen debut in a short movie titled “Papa’s Slay Ride” in 1930. She played notable roles in the various movies: “Stage Struck” and “The Charge of the Light Brigade”. In the latter, she played the role of Lady Octavia Warrenton.

She was featured in the 1935 American drama film “Love me Forever” alongside Grace Moore.
Nominations
In 1950, she was nominated by Golden Globe Awards for “Best Actress Comedy or Musical” in the film “Louisa”.
Death
She died of cancer.
