Though he was globally known for his marriage to Princess Caroline of Monaco, Stefano Casiraghi was also famous as a powerboat racer. Throughout his career, which lasted for over two decades, the Italian competed in over 75 races. In 1989, he won the Class 1 World Powerboat Championship.

Casiraghi made lots of money from his real estate businesses. He worked as the chairman of Fiat’s construction firm Cogefar France. He was also a shareholder in the construction company named Engeco. Aside from that, he worked as the director of the Monte Carlo-based Christian Dior clothing store.

He died in an accident during one of his powerboat races. The Italian was a world champion before his demise.
