About Sterling Sharpe
Sterling Sharpe is a famous retired American football player. He played over 100 games during his NFL career, which spanned from 1988 to 1994. He mainly played as a wide receiver. After retiring, he accepted a job as an analyst with the NFL.
Education
He is an alumnus of Glennville High School, where he played in the football, track, and basketball teams.
He attended the University of South Carolina. Sharpe was the Gamecocks' wide receiver during his South Carolina years. He broke several records, and as a result, South Carolina proudly retired his No.2 jersey.
In 2014, he became a College Football Hall of Famer.
Professional Career & Records
In 1988, Green Bay Packers picked him in the first round and as their seventh overall draft. He played in all sixteen games during his rookie season.
In 1989, 1992, and 1993 NFL seasons, he was included in the First-team All-Pro and was NFL's receptions leader. In addition, he led the NFL's record for yards receiving in 1992 and touchdowns in the 1992 and 1994 seasons.
Sadly, the player's career ended when he suffered a severe neck injury in 1994.
He is a Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer.
