About Steve Grissom
After winning the Winston All-Pro Series in 1985, Steve Grissom established himself as one of the most promising racing drivers of his generation. The following year, he competed in the Busch Series for the first time. In 1993, he won the competition which earned him his legendary status.
Throughout his NASCAR career, the American driver competed in many divisions including the Cup Series and the Camping World Truck Series. Grissom also represented a number of racing teams such as the Jay Robinson Racing, LJ Racing and Larry Hedrick Motorsports.
Family
The driver lost his father, Wayne in 2021. His son is named Kyle, who is also a driver best known for his performance in the ARCA Racing Series.
Achievements
In 1986, he was shortlisted for the “Alabama Pro Athlete of the Year” prize. He competed in NASCAR’s “Rookie of the Year” award in 1994, but lost to Jeff Burton.
