About Steve Irwin
Steve Irwin was an Australian wildlife expert, wildlife conservationist and television personality who went by the nickname The Crocodile Hunter. He gained international stardom for appearing in the famous wildlife documentary series The Crocodile Hunter. He was tragically killed in September 2006 after he was stabbed in the chest by a stingray during the filming of the documentary film Ocean's Deadliest. He was 44.
Family Life
He was the son of Lyn and Bob Irwin. He married Terri Irwin in 1992. He and Terri had two children: Bindi Sue Irwin born in 1998 and Robert Clarence Irwin born in 2003. He was still married to Terri at the time of his death in 2006.
Trivia
The government of Rwanda honored him by naming a baby gorilla after him in 2007.
