About Steve McNair
Stephen LaTreal McNair was an American football player who played as a quarterback. He was chosen by the National Football League’s Tennessee Titans in the draft of 1995 after his final season of college football with the Alcorn State University. He was with the Titans for 11 seasons before joining the Baltimore Ravens where he spent his final two seasons in the NFL.
Family Life
He grew up with four brothers in Mount Olive, Mississippi. He was the brother of American football coach Fred McNair. He had been married to Mechelle McNair for 12 years as of his death. He had four children; two with Mechelle and two from previous relationships.
Achievements
The Titans retired his number 9 jersey number. He played in three Pro Bowl games and was named the “Most Valuable Player” of the NFL in 2003.
Death
He was killed via a gunshot on July 4, 2009 by Sahel Kazemi, whom he was in an extra marital relationship with. She killed herself afterwards.
