About Steve Smith
Steve Smith is a talented American musical performer who’s famously known as a drummer. He became a global icon due to his association with the American band called “Journey”. Smith’s love for drumming started at an early age when he was only two years.
He formed a jazz group in 1977, which was known as Vital Information. He has been affiliated with some renowned bands such as Focus, The Storm, and Steps Ahead.
As a member of the Journey band, he helped them to record a number of singles which include “Dream, After Dream”, “Escape”, and “Raised on Radio”.
Being a part of Vital Information, Smith helped the band to record some special singles such as “Ray of Hope”, “Show 'Em Where You Live”, and “Live! One Great Night”.
Achievements
On five multiple occasions, he was voted as the best All-Around Drummer by the Modern Drummer magazine.
He was included in the magazine’s list of Top 25 Drummers of All Time in 2001.
In 2017, he was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
