About Stokely Carmichael
Stokely Carmichael was a Trinidadian-American activist who was known for his involvement in the African-American Civil Rights Movement which aimed to end the wide-spread discrimination against African-Americans in the United States of America, and during the Pan-African Movement that had the goal of unifying all people of African descent. He also served as the leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the Black Panther Party, and the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party during the Black Power movement (a political slogan started by Carmichael himself during a speech in 1966).
Education
Carmichael received his degree in Philosophy at Howard University (Washington, D.C.) in 1964.
