Personal Life
He was named William Stuart Adamson at birth and was the son of William Anderson and Anne Muir. His parents loved music so he also enjoyed music. His father encouraged him to study literature and enrolled him in Beath High School. He later got married to a lady by name Sandra in 1982 and together, they birthed two children but their union ended three years later. In 1999, he married Melanie Shelley who was a hairdresser.
Career
He started the band “Tattoo” in 1976 along with a few friends. In 1977, he started another band called “Skids”. He was just eighteen at the time and the band went ahead to release “Into the Valley” which made it to the UK charts. In 1981, he decided to leave the band. His next band was “Big Country” which brought him more popularity than the previous bands.
Death
His wife reported that he had gone missing in 2001 when she filed for divorce. He was struggling with alcoholism at the time and was attending therapy. Less than a month after the report, he was found dead in a hotel room he had booked in Hawaii. He had committed suicide by hanging.
