The R&B singer, Syesha Mercado is popularly known for being a contestant on the seventh edition of the American singing competition “American Idol” where she got eliminated in the finals.
Family and Education
She is the daughter of Jose Mercado and Zelda Mercado (former singer of Motown). She had her education at Booker High School and studied theatre at Florida International University.
Career
Aside from "American Idol", she also participated in the American television series “The One: Making a Music Star". After she was evicted from the show, she made appearances on television shows such as “the Deco Drive Show” on WSVN and “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet”.
She was also given the opportunity to perform at the 6abc Dunkin' Thanksgiving Day Parade.
As a singer, she released singles “Christmas Melody” and “Tears”.
Awards
She was awarded "Best Supporting Actress" during the SouthEastern Theatre Conference for her role in the musical comedy “Seussical”.

Mercado helped the Habitat for Humanity to build homes for less privileged families in Miramar, Florida.
