About Talcott Parsons
Talcott Parsons was a celebrated 20th-century American scholar and sociologist. He is famously remembered for his innovative social action theory. His theory was the first generalized, broad, and systematic social systems theory developed in Europe and America.

He began teaching economics and sociology at Harvard University in 1931. He became a full-time professor in 1944 and served as chairperson of Harvard's social relations department until 1956. He retired from lecturing in 1973.
In 1949, Parson was the President of the "American Sociological Society." He published his first book, "The Structure of Social Action," in 1937.
In general, his work focused on social thoughts, as his postulates asserted that sociological theory did not reside in a person's personality and internal field but rather in the external environment and institutional structures that societies develop.
Death
He died at age 76, on May 8, 1979. His death occurred while he was traveling to Germany to celebrate 50 years of earning a Heidelberg degree.
