About Tammi Terrell
Tammi Terrell was an American singer who gained stardom recording several duets with Marvin Gaye. Some of her most popular duets with Gaye include 1967's Aint No Mountain High Enough and 1968's You're All I Need to Get By. She tragically died of a brain tumor when she was only 24 years old.
Personal Life
She was the daughter of actress Jennie and Thomas Montgomery. She had a younger sister named Ludie. She had a string of boyfriends including singer David Ruffin of the Temptations and iconic singer James Brown. At the time of her death, she and a doctor named Ernest Garrett were engaged.
Trivia
She frequently suffered from headaches but never knew what was wrong with her until she collapsed onstage in 1967 during a performance with Marvin Gaye. It was this incident that led her to visit the hospital, where she found out that she had brain tumor.
Few months before her death, she became blind and was wheelchair-bound.
