About Theodore Hook
No biography of the infamous Londoner would be complete without due reference to his scathing sense of mischief that drove him to pull off one of the most successful pranks of his time, The Berners Street Hoax. Despite his comical persona, Hook was known as a witty composer and writer.
Early Life & School
While studying at Harrow School in London, Theodore Hook distinguished himself as a class prankster. He later graduated from the University of Oxford.
Notable Facts

He wrote a number of stories which he titled “Sayings and Doings” during his 2-year confinement. Ever the practical joker, he gained more infamy for making a postcard, ridiculing postal workers and addressing it to himself.
