About Thomas Cranmer
Thomas Cranmer was an English religious leader best remembered as the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1533 to 1555 and for being the leader of the English Reformation. He is also known for his instrumental role in putting in place the basic doctrinal structures of the Church of England. Under the reign of Mary I of England, he was tried for treason and heresy and burnt to death in 1556.
