About Thomas Markle
Thomas Markle is an award-winning American television director of photography and lighting. He became a well-known figure for being the father of Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.
In the early 1970s, he worked for WTTW-TV Channel 11 as the director of lighting. He’s also played crucial roles in the production of many television series and shows, including “General Hospital” and “Married... with Children”.
Achievement
He, together with other thirteen personnel, won the Outstanding Achievement in Design Excellence for a Daytime Drama Series at the 1982 Daytime Emmy Award. At the 2011 version of the same event, he won the prize for the Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction for a Drama Series.
Personal Life
In 1964, Thomas got married to Roslyn Loveless. The couple was blessed with two children, Samantha and Thomas Markle Jnr. However, the marriage came to an end in 1975.
He later married Doria Ragland in 1979. They had their first child, Meghan Markle, in 1981. The couple separated in the late 1980s.
