While in Virginia, he cultivated his inherited lands and established himself as a rich plantation owner.
Personal Life
He married Jane Poythress, the daughter of a rich Virginia landlord. They had a daughter.
Legacy
His half-European and half-American ancestry helped restore peace between the Powhatan people and the English settlers.
