About Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel is a German professional soccer coach and former player. He rose to prominence after being named the head coach of Borussia Dortmund in 2015. His hard work and knowledge about the game earned him the opportunity to work with other high-profile teams which include FC Augsburg II, and Mainz 05.
In 2018, he became the head coach of French side, Paris Saint-Germain. He coached English club Chelsea from 2021 to 2022.
Despite having a short playing career, Tuchel played for some well-known soccer teams in his native country which include Stuttgarter Kickers and SSV Ulm. He mostly played as a defender. However, he ended his playing career at the age of 25 years.
Achievements
He helped Paris Saint-Germain to win the 2018-19 and 2019-20 French Ligue 1 trophies. They also won the Trophée des Champions in 2018 and 2019.
He was the head coach of Borussia Dortmund when they won the DFB-Pokal in 2017.
During his time as Chelsea manager, he won the UEFA Champions League with the club.
Trivia
He suffered knee cartilage damage in 1998 which ended his playing career.
