About Thor Hushovd
Norwegian-born former professional road bicycle racer Thor Hushovd’s fame rest upon his victories at the Norwegian National Road Race Championship, a competition he won on three occasions. Hushovd was also the prestige winner of the World Road Race Championships in 2010.
Career & Notable Accomplishments
Hushovd raced with numerous teams, including the popular French professional cycling team, Crédit Agricole from 2000 to 2008. He later moved to join Cervélo TestTeam for a year, between 2009 to 2010 before moving to sign under Garmin–Cervélo in 2011. He later left the cycling team to be a part of the BMC Racing Team from 2012 until his retirement in 2014. During this time, he became the Scandinavian with the most stage wins in Grand Tours and was globally regarded as one of the greatest Norwegian cyclists of all time.
Personal Life
The cyclist married Susanne Hushovd in 2007.
