About Timo Hildebrand
German goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand was admired for his agility and sharp reflexes. He came into the limelight in 1999 when he made his professional debut with VfB Stuttgart. In his eight years spell with the club, he won one Bundesliga title, and two UEFA Intertoto Cups.
His high performance attracted interest from a number of top European teams including Valencia in Spain, who signed him in 2007. Other teams that he featured for include Eintracht Frankfurt, and Schalke 04.
International Career
Hildebrand spent three years with the German senior national team, mostly as a back up to Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehmann. He was a member of the country’s bronze-winning team at the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
Achievements
He won the Copa del Rey with Valencia in 2008.
Trivia
In the 2003/04 soccer season, he went 884 minutes without conceding a goal, which became a new record in the Bundesliga.
