About Tina Weymouth
Tina Weymouth initially served as the driver of the Talking Heads band before she learnt how to play the bass guitar. Performing as the bassist, she helped the group to record their first studio album which was dubbed “Talking Heads: 77”. Before the group’s final break in 2002, they had recorded eight albums of which Weymouth played key roles.
In 1980, he teamed up with another member of the band Chris Frantz to create the group known as Tom Tom Club. Together, they released many songs with some of the popular ones titled "Genius of Love" and "Wordy Rappinghood".
Personal Life
Her father Ralph Weymouth was an officer of the United States Navy. She was raised by her mum Laura Bouchage alongside six siblings which include Laura and Lani Weymouth.
She got married to Frantz in 1977 and they have been blessed with two kids.
Education
She met her future husband, as well as fellow Talking Heads member David Byrne during her days at Rhode Island School of Design.
Honors
With the Talking Heads, she became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
Trivia
During the second edition of the Independent Music Awards, she was named as one of the judges.
She started learning how to play the guitar on her own at the age of 14 years.
