About Tino Rossi
French singer and actor Tino Rossi was a natural performer who used his voice to create some of the best musical television shows of his era. In every venue where he played, his romantic melodies had audiences, particularly ladies, swooning.
Beginnings
Constantino Rossi, one of eight children of his parents, started acting at a young age. He moved to France's mainland as a youngster, competing in amateur singing competitions while working at a mortgage company.
Career
After signing with Columbia records, he gained notoriety as a cabaret tenor and one of his era's most beloved romantic idols. With his "Latin Lover" persona, he became a movie star. He made his film debut with “Moscow Nights” (1934); however, it was “Marinella” (1936) that marked his significant breakthrough. He produced hundreds of recordings over his career and acted in over 25 movies.
Vincent Scotto, a lyricist with whom he worked for many years, immensely contributed to his career.
