About Titus
Titus Caesar Vespasianus was a ruler of the Roman Empire who reigned from 79 to 81 AD. He initially attracted attention when he worked under his father, Vespasian as a military commander in the First Jewish-Roman War.
After Vespasian ascended the throne in 68, he took charge and captured Jerusalem, destroying it in the process. Before he became the emperor, he served in Vespasian’s administration as praetorian prefect. He is remembered best for finishing work on the Colosseum and relieving the suffering of his people brought on by two major natural disasters.
