Todd is an American sports star who has been an influential part of baseball in America and all over the world.
Personal Life
His birth name is Todd Lynn Helton. He attended Central High School and played both baseball and football. When it was time for him to go to the University, he was given an Athletic scholarship to gain him access to University of Tennessee. This was so he could play the games he was good at, baseball and football. He married a lady named Christy and together, they had two children who were both female.
Career
He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 1995 but started playing in the major league two years later. He stayed and played with the team for almost two decades.
Achievement
When he became a senior, an All-American honor was granted to him by Baseball America. In 1995, he received the Dick Howser Trophy and in 1998, he went ahead to accept “The Sporting News Rookie of the Year” award. Two years later, he was honored with the “Walter Fenner Leonard Legacy Award” as well as the “Players Choice Award” for the National League. He was granted the latter award for being an outstanding Player.
