Personal Life
Thomas Gordon Poston was the son of Margaret Poston and George Poston. His father worked as a dairy chemist and also handled the sale of liquor. He schooled at Bethany College and became a part of Sigma Nu fraternity. In 1941, he joined the Army Air Forces of the United States and during World War II, he worked in the European Theatre as a pilot.
Career
His first movie appearance was in the movie “City That Never Sleeps” in 1953. A few years later, he gained more popularity when he was featured in “Man in the Street” which was a comedy.. He has also been in “The Old Dark House”, “The Happy Hooker” and “Carbon Copy”.
Achievement
In 1959, he was awarded an Emmy for being the best supporting actor for the film “Man in the Street”.
Death
In 2007, he suffered from respiratory failure and passed away. He was buried in a Jewish cemetery even though he was not a Jew.
