About Tom Sullivan
Tom Sullivan’s playing career wasn’t very successful as compared to his achievements as a coach. After his performance at the college level, Sullivan joined the NBA in 1972 as a member of the New York Knicks. However, he never had the opportunity to feature in the league but had spells in Switzerland and Italy.
Coaching career
During his playing days in Italy, the New York City-born basketball player undertook a number of coaching courses. His first coaching work came in 1973 when he was appointed by Hunter College as a deputy coach. He has gone on to have stints with New Hampshire College, Seton Hall University, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Family
Since 1982, he has been married to Juliana Sullivan.
Education
He played for the basketball team of Fordham University.
Achievements
During his time in college, he won a Haggerty Award. In 1998, he was voted Big South Conference “Coach of the Year”. The following year, he won Northeast Conference’s “Coach of the Year”.
