Tommy Kirk was an American actor who blossomed in a variety of films produced in the late 1950s to mid-1960s. At age 12, he got his first role in the stage play “Ah! Wilderness!” He is remembered best for roles such as Travis Coates in “Old Yeller”, Biff Hawk in “The Absent-Minded Professor”, Ernst in “Swiss Family Robinson” and Merlin Jones in “The Misadventures of Merlin Jones”.

He was born to a mechanic father named Louis and a legal secretary mother, Lucy. He had an older brother named Joe. He was never married and he publicly came out as gay in 1973.
Achievements
He was made a Disney Legend inductee in 2006.

He died on September 28, 2021 aged 79.
