About Tomo Miličević
Bosnian musician and record producer Tomo Milicevic rose to fame as the lead guitarist for the rock group Thirty Seconds to Mars. He was heavily involved in the band's second album, “A Beautiful Lie” in 2005. Both critically acclaimed and financially successful full-length sequels “This Is War” (2009) and “Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams” (2013) were released after it.
Family and Background
Millcevic was born to a Croatian family on September 3, 1979 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, then a part of Yugoslavia. A middle child of his parents – Tonka and Damir Milievi – Tomo Milicevic trained to become a concert violinist. By the age of 17, he had already begun writing his own songs. On Thirty Seconds to Mars' second album, “A Beautiful Lie”, he dazzled fans with his guitar playing abilities on the song "A Modern Myth."
He got married to Vicki Bosanko in 2011.
Career
He auditioned for Thirty Seconds to Mars and was selected amidst 200 participants. On “The Late Late Show” with Craig Kilborn on February 3, 2003, he appeared alongside Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, and Matt Wachter.
He has also worked as a music producer and collaborator. Throughout the 2010s, he appeared on a recording with Dommin and worked on a number of releases with Ivy Levan.
Trivia
He backed then-Illinois Senator Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
