About Tony Oliva
Cuban-born former baseball star Tony Pedro Oliva played as a right fielder and was also a coach after his professional career. The baseball star became a known name after playing for more than 14 years for the Minnesota Twins, from 1962 to 1976.
Early Life
The 8-time All-Star champion came from a humble home and began nurturing his skills in baseball at a young age. He was later scouted by the Minnesota Twins to start his professional career.
Career
Oliva's professional career began in 1964 after joining the Minnesota Twins. He played with the team for many years until he retired from professional baseball in 1976. Oliva retired with more than 200 home runs and over 930 runs batted in.
In honor of his tremendous contribution to the sport, he was also inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022.

The baseball star married Gordette DuBois in 1968.
