About Trey Anastasio
In 1983, Trey Anastasio formed the rock group known as Phish alongside Jon Fishman, Jeff Holdsworth, and Mike Gordon. In the group, he mostly performs as the lead vocalist and guitarist. Before their initial disbandment in 2004, he helped the group to complete many projects which include albums and singles. Some of the band’s popular albums that he contributed are “The Story of the Ghost” and “Round Room”.
Other projects and solo career
Aside from the abovementioned group, he has also performed with some popular bands such as Surrender to the Air, and Oysterhead. In 1998, he formed a self-named music group that supports him during his solo performances.
As an independent artiste, he has released over ten albums and numerous hit singles. In 1998, he issued his first album which was under the name “One Man's Trash”. His other successful albums include “The Horseshoe Curve” and “Lonely Trip”.
Family
He’s the son of Dina and Ernest Anastasio Jr., and spent his early years with his sister named Kristy who died in 2009. Since 1994, he has been married to Susan Statesir. Their two children are called Isabella and Eliza.
Education
He completed Taft School before attending the University of Vermont where he met some members of the Phish band.
Trivia
He has been credited with writing over 14 songs for Phish.
Anastasio has also performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
