About Varg Vikernes
To many people outside of the heavy metal music fandom, Norwegian musician Varg Vikernes is best known for his personal life controversies and religious and political views.
He has been credited for his contribution to the early Norwegian black metal scene first through his solo project dubbed Burzum and then later as a member of the black metal band, Mayhem.
He is also notorious for his white supremacist and racist views as well as serving a prison term for murdering his former bandmate, Euronymous.
Family Life
He changed his name legally from Kristian Vikernes to Louis Cachet after he was released from prison. He has seven children (as of early 2021) with Marie Cachet, whom he married in 2007.
Murder and Imprisonment
On 19 August 1993, he was arrested for having stabbed former Mayhem member, Euronymous, to death ten days prior. He was given a 21-year sentence in May 1994 but was released in 2009, after serving 15.
