About Vera Caslavska
Vera Caslavska is considered as one of the most successful gymnasts of all-time. From 1959 to 1968, the Czechoslovak sportswoman won over 20 international titles. She became a global figure after competing in her first major international tournament at the 1958 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She has also participated in other top tournaments like the Olympic Games, and European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Achievements
Throughout her career, she won seven Olympic gold medals, four World Championships gold medals, and 11 gold laurels at the European Championships.
In 1989, UNESCO awarded her the Pierre de Coubertin International Fair Play Trophy. She was a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun in 2010. She’s also an International Gymnastics Hall of Famer.
Trivia
As of the time she retired from the sport in 1968, she was one of two women to claim all-around gold laurels at two successive Olympics in the gymnastic event.
She was also known for her campaign against the attack on Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Union which forced her to retire from the sport for some time.
At a point in her career, she served as Czech Olympic Committee’s president.
