About Vicente del Bosque
Vicente del Bosque is a Spanish retired soccer coach and former player. He is considered to be amongst the game’s all-time greatest managers. As a professional player, he was active from 1967 to 1984, during which he featured for the Spanish teams Plus Ultra, Real Madrid, Castellon and Cordoba.
He started his coaching career with Real Madrid Castilla (Real Madrid’s reserve team) in 1987. In 1999, he became Real Madrid’s main coach after two previous stints as a caretaker. He also managed Beşiktaş from 2004 to 2005 and went on hiatus before his time with Spain (2008-2016). He led Spain to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and the UEFA Euro two years later.
Family Life
He has been married to Maria de la Santisima Trinidad Lopez. They have three children together.
Achievements
He received accolades such as the 2002 UEFA Club Coach of the Year, IFFHS World’s Best Club Coach and the IFFHS World’s Best National Coach from 2009 to 2013.
Trivia
He was conferred with the Spanish nobility title of Marquess of Del Bosque by King Juan Carlos.
