About Vincent Damphousse
Regarded as one of the most complete centers in Canadian hockey history, Vincent Francois Damphousse was renowned for his outstanding two-way play, substantial defensive contributions, and enormous offensive production.
Career
His remarkable junior hockey career with the Laval Voisins/Titan earned him a 6th overall selection by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1986 Draft. Prior to being traded to Edmonton Oilers in 1991, he spent the first five seasons of his career honing his craft with the Maple Leafs.
He played for the Montreal Canadiens, assisting in winning the Stanley Cup in 1993, until joining the San Jose Sharks for the 1998–99 season. After six seasons, he signed with the Colorado Avalanche in 2004, but the lockout that ruined the 2004–05 season prevented him from playing. On September 7, 2005, he formally retired.
