About Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf was an English writer known for her works such as Mrs Dalloway, To the Lighthouse and Orlando: A Biography. She is widely regarded as one of the most prominent modernist of the twentieth century. She suffered from severe mental illness during her lifetime and committed suicide by drowning at the age of 59.
Family Life
She was born to Sir Leslie Stephen and Julia Prinsep Duckworth Stephem. She married Leonard Woolf in 1912. She and Leonard remained married until her death in 1941.
Trivia
On 28 March 1941, she filled the pockets of her overcoat with stones and entered into the River Ouse, where she drowned herself.
