Vivien Greene was a British writer and dollhouse expert. At 15, she published her first book “The Little Wings.” She was married to a notable writer, Graham Greene.
Life
Greene began a relationship with Graham in 1925 and they got married in 1927. The couple welcomed two children but eventually separated in 1948. They never divorced and the marriage ended after Graham’s death in 1991.
Career and Other Interests
After her first book, Greene wrote other books such as “Family Dolls’ Houses” and “Laurel for Libby: A Story with Cuts.”
To help cope with the effects of the Second World War and her crumbling marriage, the writer turned to refurbish doll houses. She developed an interest in dollhouse collections and travelled extensively. In the 1960s, she built the Rotunda, which was a dollhouse museum and wrote books on dollhouses.
Death
Greene passed away in 2003. She was 99 years old.
