About Vladimir Cosma
Vladimir Cosma is a popular Romanian composer who has scored for over three hundred films and television series. He started performing in the 1960s when he embarked on a number of tours as a violinist. He gained international recognition in 1968 after he worked on Yves Robert’s “Alexandre le Bienheureux”.
Since then, he has scored for films like “Le Distrait” and “Inspecteur la Bavure”. Aside from his works in the film industry, Cosma has also worked on a number of operas. He has also performed with some popular orchestras.
Family
Teodor Cosma, his father, performed as a pianist. He’s the nephew of composer Edgar Cosma.
Education
He had his training at the Conservatoire de Paris.
Awards
Cosma’s numerous prizes include the César Award, the Sept d'Or, and the Grand Prix Sacem.
Trivia
He has collaborated with some renowned filmmakers such as Francis Veber, Jean-Pierre Mocky, and Jean-Marie Poiré.
