About Vladimir Nabokov
Vladimir Nabokov was a celebrated Russian-American novelist who first gained recognition publishing novels in the Russian language. He achieved worldwide popularity with his English novels such as 1962's Pale Fire and 1955's Lolita. The latter is regarded as his most popular novel written in the English language. He ranks high in the list of the 20th century's greatest novelists.
In 1925, he married Véra Evseyevna Slonimin, with whom he fathered a son named Dmitri.
His novel Lolita was placed at the fourth position on the Modern Library 100 Best Novels (the list of the 20th century's best 100 novels written in English). His novel Pale Fire also made it onto the list, appearing at the 53rd position.
He became a citizen of the United States in 1945.
