Background
Born into a wealthy family of six, Pierce attended Phillips Academy in Andover and then enrolled in Harvard University. Interested in arts, Pierce studied at the Art Students League in New York City and went on to Julian Academy in Paris, where he stayed for ten years exploring the arts and culture.
Career
Influenced by his adventures overseas, Waldo Pierce started painting in the 1920 with his work like “View From My Room”. This modest impressionist used regular subjects and sometimes painted himself and his growing family. He also painted his friends like American novelist Ernest Hemingway. Pierce’s works are exhibited in prominent museums across America and Europe.
