Early Life
The English actor came from a humble home and made do with what he had. With his mother, a secretary, and father, a stained-glass maker, Clarke could not enjoy the ultimate childhood experience. The actor dropped out of Barlow Hall Secondary School and started his trade at Manchester Evening News as a copy clerk.
Career
The actor's career began in 1966 when he first appeared in a soap opera. He later landed his first significant acting role in the movie "A Clockwork Orange" in 1971 and then appeared in 1985's "O Lucky Man". He enjoyed great success in many films; by the end of 1995, the actor had already starred in more than 15 movies. Clarke also starred in 2009's "Why Didn't They Ask Evans" and 2011's "Call the Midwife".
Personal Life and Death
Clarke married the love of his life Michele Clarke in 1987, and they had 2 children together. He died in 2014 after a short illness.
