Webb Simpson is a top American golfer who shot to fame in 2007 when he helped Team USA to win both the Walker Cup and the Palmer Cup. He turned professional the following year and went on to appear in his first PGA Tour.
His popularity increased in 2012 when he came out as the winner of the U.S. Open. Six years later, he won the Players Championship. Other major competitions that he has participated in include The Open Championship and the Masters Tournament.
International career
He helped the United States to win the Presidents Cup in 2011, 2013 and 2019.
Family
He’s the fifth child of Debbie Webb Simpson and Evander Samuel Simpson III. In 2012, he tied the knot with Taylor Dowd and together they had two kids named Willow and James.
Education
Simpson started playing golf during his time at Needham B. Broughton High School. He continued at Wake Forest University.
Achievements
In 2020, he won the Byron Nelson Award and the Vardon Trophy. In July 2022, he was ranked fourth on the Official World Golf Ranking.
