About Wild Bill Hickok
Wild Bill Hickok was an American gunfighter, lawman and gambler best remembered as one of the greatest gunfighters in the history of the American West. He fought with the Union Army during the American Civil War. His life came to a tragic end in 1876 when he was shot to death by Jack McCall while playing poker at a saloon in Deadwood, South Dakota.

He was born to Polly and William Hickok. He married Agnes Thatcher Lake in 1876. The marriage was childless.
Trivia
At the time of his death, he was reportedly holding a pair of black eights and a pair of black aces, which are now known as the "Dead Man's Hand".
Almost a century after his death, he was honored with an induction into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1979.
