Wilford Brimley was an American actor, famous for appearing in films such as 1979's The China Syndrome, 1985's The Cocoon and 1993's The Firm. On television, he is known for portraying Horace Brimley on the family drama series The Waltons. He is also known for appearing in several television advertisements, most notably the commercials for the Quaker Oats Company.
Personal Life
He was married to Lynne Brimley from 1956 until her death in 2000. He and Lynne had four children together. In 2007, he got married to his second wife Beverly Berry.
Death
Several top personalities, including Stephen Colbert, paid tribute to the iconic actor after he passed away in August of 2020. He was battling kidney disease, two months prior to his death.
