About Wilkie Collins
Wilkie Collins was an author and novelist from England. He was popularly known for writing the novels “The Woman in White” and “The Moonstone”. He developed an interest in writing and storytelling when he was bullied by one of his seniors to tell him stories every night.
Achievements
Collins published his debut story titled “The Last Stage Coachman” in 1843. Later that year, he launched his first novel called “Tahiti as It Was”.
Other published works of Collins include “Hide and Seek” in 1854, “The Woman in White” in 1860, “The Law and the Lady” in 1875, “The Haunted Hotel” in 1878, “The Fallen Leaves” in 1879 and “The Evil Genius” in 1885.

He attended Maida Vale academy and Reverend Cole's private boarding school.
Family
He was born to William Collins and Harriet Geddes. He had a sibling named Charles Allston Collins. He had three children named Marian Dawson, William Charles Dawson and Harriet Constance Dawson. He had been in a romantic relationship with Caroline Graves and Martha Rudd.
Death
He died as a result of a paralytic stroke in 1889.
