The NFL player grew up in Griffin, Georgia and he studied at Griffin High School and at the University of Tennessee.
Career Highlights
Willie Gault started as an NFL player and he played football during his days in high school and at the university. During his days at Griffin High, he achieved an NFL statistic, making 33 passes and 7 touchdowns. He was also named “All-Star” following his impressive records for both his junior and senior seasons. He retired from football in 1990.
During his NFL Career, aside from playing for the Chicago Bears, he also joined the Los Angeles Raiders and played for the team for five years.
Gault specialized in Track and Field when he became an athlete. His first participation in athletics would have been in the 1980 Summer Olympics but the game was rejected by the United States. He participated in competitions such as the Olympic Boycott Games and World Championships.
The athlete made his first win after he set the 110 meters high hurdles record during the 1982 SEC Championship and he was later awarded the Commissioner’s Trophy.
His personal best includes 10.10A (100 meters) and 20.68 (200 meters).
Achievements
As an NFL player, he was named All-American and 100 greatest Bears of All-Time.
