About Yeji
Hwang Ye-ji, known professionally as Yeji, is a South Korean rapper, singer and dancer. She is popularly known for being a member and the leader of the Korean girl group dubbed, ITZY. The group made their debut in February 2019 with their single, It’z Different under JYP Entertainment.
Prior to joining the group, she had made a cameo appearance on the 2015 Korean television series, Twenty Again and had participated in the competition reality series, The Fan.
Achievements
Along with her fellow ITZY members, she received numerous awards within a short period after her debut. Some notable ones include the Asia Artist Awards’ Rookie of the Year 2019, Genie Music Awards’ Female New Artist (2019), and Mnet Asian Music Awards’ Best New Female Artist (2019).
