She is a Ukrainian politician, who is noted for being the head of the political party known as All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland. Yulia Tymoshenko is also noted for her strong opinions and opposition concerning Ukraine's integration into the Eurasian Customs Union.
She is also known to be a strong supporter of Ukraine's membership in the European Union. She is mostly prominent for having been the first-ever woman to be elected as Ukraine's Prime Minister – serving between 2005 and 2007. She is also known for having jointly headed the so-called Orange Revolution.

She was born to father, Volodymyr Hrihyan, and mother, Lyudmila Telehina. She is noted to have a brother named Vladimir Grigyan. She got married to ex Ukrainian Prime Minister, Oleksandr Tymoshenko in 1979. Her daughter is an entrepreneur and philanthropist, Eugenia Tymoshenko.

She was sentenced to 7 years Imprisonment in 2011 but was released in 2014.
