About Yung Lean
Jonathan Leandoer Hastad, professionally known as Yung Lean is a Swedish rapper, record producer and singer-songwriter who gained fame after his 2013 track, Gingseng Strip 2002 went viral on YouTube.
He released his debut studio album titled Unknown Memory and his first mixtape, Unknown Death 2002 in 2013.
His second mixtape, Frost God, as well as his second studio album titled Warlord were released in 2016.
Family Life
His father, Kristoffer Leandoer is a poet, translator and fantasy author, while his mother, Elsa Hastad is an LGBT human rights activist. He is the grandson of British-Jewish playwright, Arnold Wesker.
Achievements
In 2014, he was included in XXL Magazine’s list of “15 European Rappers You Should Know”.
He was honored with the Bram Stoker Medal of Cultural Achievement by the University Philosophical Society at Trinity College in 2019.

Yung Lean has cited the likes of Nas’s IIImatic, Mitt Kvarter by The Latin Kings, and 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ as his early hip hop influences.
He was placed on probation at age 15 for smoking cannabis.
