Yvette Mimieux, full name Yvette Carmen Mimieux is a renowned American TV and film actress. She had a successful career that spanned between 1956 and 1999.
Early Life
She is of Mexican descent and was born in Los Angeles County, California. At a young age, American manager Jim Bryon advised her to pursue a career in acting. Her first acting came in the late 1950s when she landed minor roles in the TV shows “One Step Beyond” and “Yancy Derringer.”
Acting Career
Mimieux’s breakout role came in 1960 when she played the character of Weena in “The Time Machine.” She then signed a long-term contract with film giants “MGM.” Between 1960 and 1965, she acted in many MGM films, notably “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” and “Light in the Piazza.”
She has contributed to over 100 film and TV projects and has received several nominations at the Golden Globe Awards.
Personal Life
On December 19, 1959, she married Evan Harland in a secret ceremony. However, they divorced after a few years.
Between 1972 and 1985, she was married to American film director Stanley Donen. As of 2021, she has been married to Howard F. Ruby since their marriage on 20 December 1986.
